23.10.2020

Waterlogic, a leading global designer, manufacturer, distributor and service provider of purified drinking water dispensers, is pleased to announce the acquisition of Tipperary Water’s water cooler business.

Tipperary Water, a leading Irish water cooler company with over 12,000 machines in field, has offered a range of bottled water coolers and mains-fed dispensers as well as packaged water to businesses across the Island of Ireland for over 25 years. The company is owned by C&C Group plc, a leading manufacturer, marketer and distributor of premium branded cider, beer, wine and soft drinks.

Founded in 1992, Waterlogic has pioneered the application of advanced technology in the design of its water dispensers in support of its mission to deliver the safest, best-tasting water in the most sustainable way to organisations around the world. Waterlogic operates in Ireland, the UK and throughout Europe, the Americas and Australia, and has an extensive independent global distribution network reaching over 50 countries.

Greg Pritchett, Managing Director Waterlogic UK & Ireland said, “The acquisition of Tipperary Water has established Waterlogic’s Irish business very well to serve our customers and more generally, delivering on our strategy for local growth and regional alignment within the UK and Ireland region. We look forward to bringing the team on board to continue driving excellence for their customers and building on the success the company has enjoyed as the largest water cooler company in the island of Ireland.”

The acquisition doubles the size of the Waterlogic Ireland team based in Dublin and marks a significant milestone in the growth of the company’s market share in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. Following this acquisition of Tipperary’s water cooler business, Waterlogic will continue to purchase bottled water from C&C Group’s Clonmel plant in County Tipperary.

Tom McCusker, Managing Director, C&C Ireland said, “This deal sees the coming together of the most recognisable brand of water in the region with the expertise of an outstanding global company. Tipperary Water Cooler company has been a great asset of C&C Group over a number of years but Waterlogic is now the ideal owner of the business for the next stage of its development. Tipperary Water Cooler company will continue to offer the same high-quality brand of naturally sourced water that our customers have come to depend on, together with the scale and operational efficiencies of a global player in the market.

Waterlogic was acquired in January 2015 by funds managed by Castik Capital, the European private equity investor. Tipperary Water Cooler company is the most recent acquisition as part of the company’s buy and build strategy since the acquisition by Castik, and following substantial acquisitions in the U.S. and Canada, UK, Australia, Spain, France, Germany, Latin America and Scandinavia.
